FAQs
Q: I have followed all the steps to connect my Canon MP620, downloaded the driver file etc, but cannot get past the "Printer connection" screen: I connect the printer usb to the pc and turned the printer on but, it keeps going back to the "printer connection screen and I cannot get past this. Please help with this issue. Thanks.
A: To fix this non-detecting issue, apply these steps:
1) Connect the printer to the computer.
2) Uninstall “USB printing support” from the device manager. Like this: https://oip.manual.canon/USRMA-0323-zz-SS-enUV/Inst_source/contents/05010000.html. Also uninstall the printer driver if installed.
3) Disconnect the printer’s USB cable from the computer and reboot your computer.
4) After rebooting, now start installing the printer again and follow the on-screen instructions. Make sure the printer’s cable should not be connected until the printer-driver-installer asks you to connect it.
5) Now the driver-installer will ask you to connect the printer, now connect the printer’s USB cable to the computer. Make sure to connect it to another USB port then the previous one and wait for it to detect the printer automatically. This should be detected this time.
That’s it.

Am trying to reinstall drivers for my Canon MP620 printer to my laptop. MY OS is Windows 10. I have followed the instructions given here, but never got to the “Next” button. I have downloaded the file, and double clicked. Then nothing happened. Now what?
You simply need to extract/unzip the “md6l-win-mp620-1_05-en-mini-master-64bit.exe” file and execute “MSETUP4.EXE” file from extracted folder. Kindly see the screenshots below.

Tchstar: Thank you for your valuable assistance, I FINALLY got the Canon MP620 going, thanks to yor website’s instructions. Again, many, many thanks.
I downloaded the 64 bit file, after it did, I tried to open the file and I get an error window called the WINZIP EXTRACTOR, in it shows: C:/Users/oakji/Appdata etc. so I went to the download folder and deleted this file but when I try to start the download process again, I run into the same problem. Why is this happening, when the first time I did this ,I went as far as starting the printer etc, but I could not go any further? Is there a bug in the instructions or Am I doing something wrong ?
This is my second comment about the download driver Issue. Thanks for any assistance.
Try to download it again using another browser, maybe the problem is with the server at that time. Also, after updating your WinZip software, it seems like it has gone outdated. Or you may right-click on the downloaded file and click on unzip or extract. Keep me updated afterwards.
Tried to do the install after the download. I keep getting an installation failure .
Did you get any other “text” along with “Installation Failure”? Please share the whole error message with me. Also, let me know exactly when you are getting this error message?
Please apply the following tips while installing any printer on your computer:
1) Don’t plug your printer’s USB cable into the computer before you start installing the printer. You should only connect the printer to the computer only when the driver-installer asks you to connect it.
2) Uninstall all the previously installed printer drivers from your computer (control panel) and reboot your computer and then try installing the printer again with the above given tip.
If this doesn’t work then you’ll have to install the printer manually using its basic driver.
