Questions & Answers
Q: Hello, I changed the computer and want to set up Canon image Runner 2004/2204 UFRII/LT. (1) The computer keep read device as 'imaging device' (2) and when i try to install the driver, the usb connection keep fails. Other computer has no problem to use the machine for printing. How can I make the machine to be recognized as 'printing machine' and install the driver? thank you.
A: If your device is detected in "imaging devices", it means your printer's scanner has been detected and installed. If your printer is detected (not the scanner), it should have gone under the "printers" category, if its driver got installed. Any device that is detected on a computer but cannot install its driver will go to the "Other Devices" category in the device manager. So the installed-printer goes under "printers" category and the installed-scanner goes to "imaging devices" and not-installed-printer & scanner will go to "other devices". Check which state you are in.
As I understand your issue, I would suggest a few steps please apply them on your computer and let me know the results.
Solution 1: Connect your printer's USB cable to another USB port on your computer.
Solution 2: Go to the device manager and uninstall the "USB Printing Support" from the "Universal Serial Bus" category. Please read this article to learn how to do it: https://oip.manual.canon/USRMA-0323-zz-SS-enUV/Inst_source/contents/05010000.html
